Saving Our Lonely Planet: A Climate Action Guidebook

PUBLICATION DESIGN ILLUSTRATION TYPESETTING

This 72-page report provides recommendations to a multinational corporation for boosting its sustainability profile and fostering meaningful partnerships with climate activists and foundations around the world. Visually inspired by the Lonely Planet series of travel guides and incorporating several of my own illustrations, the final product was an interactive PDF featuring hundreds of internal and external hyperlinks, carefully produced for accuracy and ease of use.

NAVIGATION

The report is written in three sections to give an overview of key climate issues in three major markets: the US, the EU, and China. In the key issues section, I illustrated sliding-scale charts for each issue to show its relative importance and “boldness” for the end-client to focus on. Illustrated flag icons representing each of the three focus markets are used throughout the report’s running headers to help summarize, and are hyperlinked to assist with navigation.

ILLUSTRATIONS

Additional illustrations—all drawn in a loose, sketch-like style that echoes the end-client’s own branding—included a color-coded map of Europe, a global “road to Paris” (representing pathways to achieve the goals set out in the Paris Climate Accords), and pillars to support the “three pillars of climate activism.”

WHO’S WHO

The final section is an overview of the most prominent people, brands, and organizations tackling climate change in the US, EU, and China. I researched each entry’s logo or headshot (ensuring necessary permissions), and hyperlinked all names to their respective websites.
